This career path has provided me with amazing opportunities. I have seen and learned so much in a few years. Every day brings new challenges and experiences that enhance my skills in the electrical field. I have also met and worked with well-rounded individuals from all walks of life and have listened to their stories. I owe this apprenticeship for allowing me to grow both as a worker in the trades and a human being.

The Fort Wayne Electrical JATC has opened up so many doors in my career beyond just the amazing education I received as an Inside Wireman (Electrician)! From Estimating & Engineering to Project & Operations Management. The valuable training we offer here is in high demand and the world opens up for our graduating apprentices!

The reason I chose the path of the IBEW and the JATC was that I was going to enjoy doing each and every day, not just a job that pays my bills, but something I could get excited about every day. Looking at the future of my life, my wife, and two boys were a must. So, the pension, assessments, equal opportunity, and most of all benefits. Everything the JATC has to offer such as in class workshops, on the job training, earn while you learn, and an associate's degree. It was a no brainer for me after all the JATC has to offer. A family friend referred me to the JATC and that's how I got the ball rolling on my career. The hiring process to get into the apprenticeship was hard work but with a little determination was painless and exciting. The most rewarding experience of it all is the fact I get to work and learn on some of the biggest industrial job sites in the Midwest while working towards an end goal of becoming a Journeyman Inside Wireman, so everyday is a challenge that I enjoy chasing each and every day!
