Step-by-Step Guide to Applying for Your Apprenticeship
Applications will be accepted in the month of January ONLY
(January 1 – January 31)
Please see the instructions listed below to set up your system user account. You will need an active system account to complete your application when the portal is open.
NEW APPLICANTS: If this is the first time using the online Web Services, select “Create Account” and enter the required information. You’ll receive a confirmation email with a verification link. To complete the account creation, you must click the verification link. This will send an email to staff letting us know that you wish to complete an application for the apprenticeship program. We will verify your information during normal business hours, and you will be sent an email instructing you on the rest of the process. Once your application is in progress, you may log in as often as necessary to complete the steps.
To help minimize errors, please make sure that you have a COMPLETE and CORRECT address in your user profile.
1. Applicants must be at least 17 years of age and must have completed one year of high school algebra. Applicants will need to request an official transcript containing the graduation date or completed a GED scores and provide documentation and GED completion date.
2. You must create a user account to make an application, if this is your first time applying. If you have applied in the past, you already have an account and may log in to start the application. For log in issues please contact the JATC office at 260-483-6257.
3. You may initiate an application online when the application portal is open. Applications can only be started when the portal is open, which is January 1 – 31st.
4. Once your application is submitted, it will be reviewed by the JATC office. Please keep in mind application volume may be large and reviewing takes time. If all documents are submitted correctly, your application will be reviewed and sent to GAN Human Resources within the following weeks. You will receive an email from GAN Human Resources that includes a link to your Personal Experience Form. This form will include clear instructions regarding deadlines and the documentation you’ll need to submit.
Please note: You will be required to upload documentation to verify the experiences you report in the form. This includes high school and college transcripts, work history, military DD214 (if applicable), letters of recommendation, and records of any technical training. Only verified experiences will be awarded credit – any experience not supported by documentation submitted through the GAN portal will not receive credit. GAN Human Resources will use this information to validate your responses.
5. If you meet the qualifications for application, which includes: High School Senior on track to graduate or GED and one (1) year successful completion of Algebra, you will be notified to report for testing within 3 months. If you do not have the required algebra credit, you may ask to be signed up for the online Tech Math course through the JATC. This course must be completed before applying or before the expiration of your application.
6. There will be a non-refundable application processing fee collected at the time of application.
If you do not have access to a computer or mobile device, you may apply online at our facility on the day of application between the hours of 9am-3pm. Be sure to bring your work history for your last three employers.
If accepted into the program you will need to have internet access and a Windows based computer in order to complete homework assignments.
Computer/Internet access can be made available for you at the training center if you do not have them available elsewhere.
