This three-year program includes 480 hours of related classroom training held at the Training Center (a minimum of one night per week). Related training consists of Premise Cabling, Structured Wiring, TIA/EIA Standards, as well as, Standard Electricity, Electronic Principles and Applications and CCTV Surveillance Systems and much more.
The Fort Wayne Electrical Training School also includes 6000 hours of on-the-job training, and wage advancement as shown below.
A Telecommunication Installer-Technician installs, tests and certifies cabling for complicated network applications. Installers learn to route and terminate twisted and shielded twisted cable, coaxial, single and multimode fiber optic, as well as, telephone, video, fire alarm, nurse call and sound and security systems.

As an apprentice in the Fort Wayne Electrical Training Program, you may be required to report for on-the-job training assignments anywhere within the employment jurisdiction of the JATC. The geographical jurisdiction by Indiana counties of this JATC are: Adams, Allen, DeKalb, Huntington, LaGrange, Noble, Steuben, Wells and Whitley.
Applications to the Fort Wayne Electrical JATC Apprenticeship Programs will be accepted in the month of January ONLY and only online via this website during that period.
There is a $55 non-refundable application processing fee.
The Fort Wayne Electrical JATC serves and accepts applications from applicants living in one of the following counties: Adams, Allen, DeKalb, Huntington, LaGrange, Noble, Steuben, Wells and Whitley.
The recruitment, selection, employment and training of apprentices during their apprenticeship, shall be without discrimination because of race, color, religion, national origin, sex or age - except the applicant must be at least 17 years of age to apply and 18 years of age at the time of Indenture. The JATC does not, and will not, discriminate against a qualified individual with a disability because of the disability of such individual. In conjunction with Ivy Tech Community College, apprentices receive an Associate Degree of Applied Science in Apprenticeship Technology along with the National Curriculum.
